Lately I've been slowly learning how to use my Paint shop program. Thanks to xx_squish_xx (The lovely squish is constantly badgered for help via email) for helping me initially and all those icon makers who answer my questions at the icon comms! :D

Despite the fact I still can't use the brush feature, I think I'm improving finally! Soon you will be subjected to an icon dump of all my attempts. Run and hide now! *grins* But right now I'm going to post a couple of banners from joss_stills and the icons to go with them.( Read more... )

In other news. I'm back at work after 2 weeks off and busier than ever. My new position and acquisition of new staff means a lot of re-arrangement for all concerned and it's Book Week as well this week. That means lots of story-reading/craft activities - thank god for bookishtype's creativity!!

I'm tired, tired, tired and am stuck big time with the fic *sigh*. In the past month I've failed to finish my main Jaylee fic for summerofjaylee, failed to finish my AU Jayne/Mal for the shiny_hats ficathon and am currently spending my lunch hour staring at part 6 of Chrysalis.( Read more... )

The little guy has been busy with winter sport, meaning I've kept occupied hauling him around to soccer, surf club and athletics. Thank goodness next week I have two weeks off!!!

It interested me because I have quite a few unfinished fics, particularly my WIP's, and it's making me crazy I haven't finished them. I have the ideas, but can't follow through for some reason. A couple of these stories were really dear to my heart and I'd really like to finish them. However, the comm above is a bit too structured for me, and I never quite get to the point to be able to post at fic_chrysalis; so I was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining me in a bit of a mutual help comm? This Saturday is the Annual Dinner for the Surf Club and due to some weight loss I have no clothes to wear. Yesterday I went out and tried some stuff on and was majorly stoked to find that I fitted into a size I probably haven't worn since I was 16! *twirls*

It's back to work today after 5 weeks off. I'll be on gmail chat on and off all day *hints*.

My first task will be to do the budget for the coming year - cross your fingers that the PTBs actually let me have some of the stuff I ask for!!!!!!!!!

My second task will be the perennial fight to get myself re-graded. This one is very important and I'll be whinging about this a lot :D

Lastly - hopefully I'll get my belated con report up today. I'm going to scan our official photos today at work. My photo with Adam was terrible (I'm in it), but the little guy's one is awesome.

Well here we are in Denver waiting for our reunion with moweasley and friends. Starfest (no link cause my computer hates the URL for some reason) starts tonight! Tomorrow Adam is here and we are excited :)

At last I'm getting myself organised for our trip. Though sometimes it's frustrating, I love the planning stages almost as much as the trip itself. Very weird I know :D

The itinerary so far:-

As usual we fly from here to Japan and overnight in Tokyo.

Then it's Tokyo to Chicago and onto to Ohio to visit and stay with the wonderful xx_squish_xx. Next we're inflicting ourselves on ladytalon1 for a couple of days then onto Phoenix and the Grand Canyon.

I'm planning to drive from there to Denver, taking about 5 days and joining up with moweasley at Starfest. We'll be seeing elsibet34 there too! *twirls* I can't wait...

It's so great that I'm going to meet and see lots of my flisters :D

Thanks to all of you wonderful flisters who wished me luck last Sunday! *hugs all around* I passed!! *dances* And now have my Bronze Medallion.

I am happy because I made the run, swim, run without becoming dead and also did not fall off the board - despite the large seas! In my opinion my CPR skills weren't that great, but the assessors passed me - so that's good.

Thanks also to truthmaker, greenowl & sl_podcast for their info about transportation etc in Chicago. It really helped with my trip planning *cuddles*.

I'm currently stymied on all my fics, the muse is being remarkabley fickle these days. I have at least 3 WIPs I've done nothing on, a new story hitting me in the head and 2 vids I should be finishing.

So what do I do?

Join a new comm and claim a table of course :DD

I should also mention that I can't write crack! Sometimes I can do funny, but crack - I fail at. But I want to try!!! My flist will be innundated with request for help I'm sure :D

Can any of you knowledgable flisters tell me how to extract/change an .rar file so I can hear/see it? I'll be grateful, I promise :D

I'll be away again this weekend, so no Saturday edition. But I'll be here on Sunday and am trying it half an hour earlier!
